Our pupils have been hard at work preparing designs for the sets of our upcoming production of The Wizard of Oz. With sketchbooks, brushes, paint, and plenty of imagination, they are exploring how to bring Dorothy’s world to life on stage.

While some focused on developing detailed ideas for individual scenes, others prepared the drawings for the large panel that will set the tone for the entire show. Each piece of work challenges them to think not only as artists, but also as storytellers.

This project is part of our Set Design CCA, where pupils learn to combine creativity with design skills. Their work doesn’t just serve the Drama Department – it will also support future celebrations such as TET and any school event that needs large-scale, high-impact art pieces.

For pupils, this is a perfect opportunity to explore Art in a different dimension: working towards a real-world brief, collaborating as a team, and seeing their creations come alive in performance.

Stay tuned for a sneak peek of the set designs!
