[IGCSE Journey] The courage to try something new

When Vi Khoi began his IGCSE journey at Brighton College Vietnam, he chose to take on a challenge: to study French, a subject completely new to him. Khoi started from scratch with curiosity and the hope of one day pursuing his studies in France.
Two years later, Vi Khoi achieved an A* in French and added another 8 grades at A*/9/8 across Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, Further Maths, Computing, English Language and English Literature, making for an excellent set of results.
Looking back, he shared that the breadth of the IGCSE programme, though demanding, became the foundation of his growth. Managing such a wide range of subjects allowed him to test himself, to strengthen his adaptability and discipline, and to grow in confidence as a learner.
For Vi Khoi, success is about balance – creating space for curiosity, cherishing friendships, and finding the confidence to face whatever challenges life may bring.
“Relax. Don’t spend all your time only on studying. If you do, you might miss out on valuable opportunities to grow, on unforgettable moments with friends, and on precious time with your family.” – Khoi shared.
