Leadership Day: Exploring strengths, defining the path ahead for Y12 pupils

Leadership Day offered our Year 12 pupils a valuable chance to explore self-discovery, develop teamwork skills, and build the confidence to step into the future. Through a series of engaging activities, they explored how to communicate effectively, collaborate with different personalities, and build resilience.
Mr Jason Sannegadu, Head of Sixth Form, shared: “I was incredibly impressed by how well our pupils collaborated and how much kindness they showed each other. They gained invaluable skills that will put them in good stead for Year 12.”
Highlights of the event included:
- Leadership Compass Activity – discovering leadership styles and what drives each pupil, so they can make the most of their abilities while understanding others.
- The Art of Communication – learning to lead through conversation via active listening dyads that build empathy and trust.
- Order, Order! – a planning and problem-solving challenge to put skills to the test.
Sixth Form is an important stage in the school journey, the final stretch before university, when pupils’ choices and self-awareness can shape their next chapter. Leadership Day is designed to help pupils understand their strengths, recognise their challenges, and learn how to work effectively with different personalities.
