“I believe that one of the most essential parts of education is helping pupils discover and feel confident in their own identity.”

For Mrs Anna Fournier, education is a journey of self-discovery, personal growth, and empowering each pupil to understand who they are and who they can become. Inspired by the words “In learning you will teach, and in teaching you will learn,” Mrs Fournier sees teaching as a shared experience grounded in mutual respect and curiosity. She believes the classroom should be a dynamic, collaborative space — not a one-way transmission of knowledge, but a setting where pupils and teachers learn from one another and grow together. When pupils feel heard, challenged, and supported, they are more likely to flourish — not only as learners, but as compassionate, independent individuals.

This year marks a significant milestone for Brighton College Vietnam as we welcome our first Sixth Form cohort. As Deputy Head (Academic), Mrs Fournier is especially passionate about guiding our Sixth Form pupils through the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme – a transformational stage that calls for both academic rigour and emotional maturity. Her goal is to help pupils approach this journey with confidence, self-awareness, and a strong sense of purpose.

Mrs Anna Fournier has nearly two decades of international education experience. She began her leadership journey as a founding member of Harrow Beijing and has since held senior roles in leading international schools across China, Malaysia and Poland. Before joining Brighton College Vietnam, she served as Head of Secondary at The British School Warsaw. In her current role at Brighton College Vietnam, she brings with her a global perspective, deep pastoral insight and a firm belief in pupil-centred education.
