[Meet Our Teachers] Where curiosity leads the way: Nurturing young minds in Key Stage 1

Young children explore their world with a passion and curiosity that is as powerful as it is joyful. They ask genuine questions better than the most experienced teachers and tell stories with a freedom that is the envy of the most prolific authors. Helping children discover the big ideas of their little world is a privilege.”
This academic year, we are delighted to welcome Mr David Healey as the new Head of Key Stage 1 at Brighton College Vietnam. David brings over 13 years of international teaching experience across Brazil and China. Prior to moving to Vietnam, he served as Assistant Head of Primary and Form Teacher at The British School of Guangzhou, working across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
Though he has taught across many year groups, it is in Key Stage 1 – where pupils begin their formal learning journey – that David finds the greatest inspiration. His vision at Brighton College Vietnam is to create a warm, joyful, and purposeful learning environment where curiosity is nurtured, confidence is built, and every day is a new story waiting to unfold.
“Children should bound home with tales of what they have learnt, yes, but also with tales of what has inspired them, what has challenged them and what has put a smile on their face.”
We are thrilled to welcome Mr David Healey to the Brighton College Vietnam community and look forward to the stories he and our young learners will write together – full of inspiration, imagination, and joy.
