Shining bright: Thai Son’s global success in Mathematics

At just a young age, our Year 4 pupil Thái Sơn has already gained extensive experience in international mathematics competitions and earned an impressive collection of prestigious awards.

Over the past few months alone, Thai Son has built an exceptional record of achievements. He has won Gold Awards at Hong Kong International Mathematical Olympiad (Hong Kong), World Mathematics Invitational (Thailand), Depth of Knowledge Assessment (Malaysia); and Silver Awards at Singapore International Math Olympiad Challenge (Singapore), International Mathematics Exam Center Maths Olympiad (United Arab Emirates), and  International Mathematics Contest (Singapore).

Celebrating his achievement, Ms Sarah Coyle shared: “His success at the competition is a wonderful reminder of what can happen when children nurture their interests. We are delighted to celebrate his hard work and achievement.”

Another teacher, Ms Sarah McKee highlighted the qualities that make Thai Son stand out in the classroom: “Thai Son’s love of Mathematics truly shines through in every lesson. He consistently impresses with his ability to think deeply, approach problems creatively, and support his peers. His classmates are always cheering him on, especially when he takes his talents to international competitions.”

Thai Son’s achievements would not be complete without recognising the vital role of his family in nurturing his love for learning and supporting his ambitions at every step. “We are incredibly proud that Thai Son continues to pursue his passion for Mathematics in such an inspiring learning environment at Brighton College Vietnam. Our heartfelt thanks go to the school and his teachers for their continuous support and dedication throughout his journey,” his mother, Ms Vu Thi Hai, shared. 

Thai Son’s accomplishments not only highlight his remarkable talent but also his perseverance, curiosity, and eagerness to embrace challenges that push the boundaries of his knowledge.
