[Summer Advice] Tips to keep pupils active over the summer break

Facebook Post Reading Challenge

Summer break is a wonderful opportunity for pupils to play, swim, camp, enjoy the outdoors, and stay active. Let’s hear from Mr Barnaby Harris, Teacher of PE at Brighton College Vietnam, on how to keep pupils engaged and physically active during the holidays.

“Ideally, each pupil heading home for the summer should aim for around 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity a day, at least twice a week,” Mr Harris shares about the amount of time for physical activity during summer break.

There are plenty of ways to stay active, especially here in Vietnam. From racquet sports to something as simple as a walk with your family, just getting outside and enjoying the sunshine makes a big difference, he said.

To help pupils stay active, parents are suggested to find a routine over the course of the six weeks and find some time to go outside and try and persuade them as much as possible and maybe joining a club, finding something that they’re interested in and getting them involved with local community and sports, according to Mr Harris.

We wish all our pupils a happy and active summer!
