UNFPA Representative shares UN’s mission to Brightonians

Brighton College Vietnam was honoured to welcome Mr. Matt Jackson, UNFPA Representative in Viet Nam, who visited the school to share insights into the United Nations (UN)’ role in shaping a more inclusive and sustainable future.

In his inspiring talk, Mr. Jackson offered an overview of the UN’s mission and structure, with emphasis on its joint efforts with the Government and communities to promote gender equality, youth empowerment, and demographic resilience.

The session also included lively discussions and exchanges, as Mr. Jackson and the audience explored topics such as UN funding, how the UN establishes its presence in different countries, and details of UN’s projects. He also further elaborated on career pathways within UN agencies, drawing from his own personal experiences.His visit provided a valuable opportunity for the participants to engage in global issues and gain firsthand insight into international humanitarian efforts.
